StratigraphyRecreation
This project is aimed to reveal the hidden past of landscape, which is shaped and modified with human wills. The process created is a record of human intention and effects on nature. When all other information is gone, this record is going to help future generations or other species to study the trace of the human race on the nature of earth. The landscape planning, farming, designing, and other acts of the site, Regent's Park, are simplified to a verb of movement, and converted into a tool and a layer of stratigraphy with different materials. The recorded video, the maker's booklet, and the set of apparatus together forms a set of instruction that can be repeated throughout Regent's Park, while more instructions can be replicated to recreate the historical stratigraphy of human effect on nature.
